McGRAW, James Charles, - Age 83, of Flint, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2001 at Rose Haven Assisted Living. Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. James was born January 19, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Leroy and Dorothy McGraw. James was raised by Guy and Erma Petrie and later graduated from the University of Chicago. He was a teacher at Gaines and Swartz Creek Community Schools. James was also the original coordinator and coach for the Mott Foundation Girls Gymnastics Program where he built many long lasting friendships with the athletes. He dedicated his life to gymnastics and loved every minute of it. Surviving are his 2 sons, Patrick Michael McGraw (Tammy) of Brunswick, GA, Timothy Terrance McGraw (Roxann) of Phoenix, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Tara, Erin, Keegan; 2 great-grandchildren, Hayden and Lauren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy.
