James Leo Oprisiu

OPRISIU, James Leo - Age 78, of Fenton, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023.  A graveside service will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.  Those desiring may make contributions to the family.  

James was born February 11, 1945 in Detroit, the son of Dan and Mary (Kroll) Oprisiu.  He was a 1963 graduate of Redford High School in Redford.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Marine Corp.  He was employed by the Sheet Metal Workers Local #292.  James had resided in Fenton for the past 10 years coming from Port Sanilac/Redford/Livonia.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and his dog, Brandy.  

Surviving are: son, Todd Oprisiu of Hartland Township and son and caregiver, Nicolas Oprisiu of Fenton; daughters, Sumar Simmons of North Carolina, Noel Kedzierski of Ohio and Shannon McGee of Missouri; grandchildren, Olivia and Elloitt; great grandson, Maverick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Joe, Dan and Gene Oprisiu.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
