James Michael Rigdon

1947 — 2025

Grand Blanc

James Michael Rigdon, born on March 21, 1947, to Robert and Gladys Rigdon, has left us, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and camaraderie. He was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Diane Carswell, whom he married on October 21, 1967. Diane was the love of his life and the center of his world, and their bond was filled with love, joy and shared adventures.

James was a proud father to three sons: Michael (Tracey) Rigdon, David (Kristi) Rigdon, and James Rigdon (Amy). He cherished his role as a grandfather to eight grandchildren: Kayla (Nick) Moritz, Tyler Rigdon, Luke Rigdon, Zachary Rigdon, Nickolas Rigdon, Logan Rigdon, Brady Rigdon, and Carson Rigdon. James was also a delighted great-grandfather to Theodore and Maxwell Moritz. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Rigdon; many nieces and nephews.

A dedicated employee, James began his career at General Motors in 1965, and proudly retired in 1999. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing, often sharing these passions with his family. Known for his sarcastic sense of humor, James had a unique way of showing his affection; if he was giving you a hard time, you knew he cared. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, embodying the essence of community and support. There was no challenge too great for him; he had a remarkable talent for fixing anything that came his way.

James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Diane; his parents, Robert and Gladys; his sister, Jeanne and his sister-in-law, Victoria Rigdon. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends, who will remember him for his quick wit, playful spirit, and the countless lives he touched.

In honoring his memory, let us celebrate the spirit of humor and camaraderie that James embodied throughout his life.
