KOAN, Janet Ruth - Age 78, of Flushing, died October 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held 3:30 PM Saturday, October 12 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Pastor Stephen Stahlhut officiating. Interment in Bendle Cemetery, Clayton Township. Visitation will be held 1 - 3:30 PM Saturday . Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek Veterans Memorial or Heartland Hospice. Janet was born September 7, 1935 in Flint the daughter of Guy and Sadie (Beckwith) Yott She married Clifford M. Koan on August 2, 1952 in Flushing. She worked in the family farm and apple orchard. Her life was devoted to her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: husband of 61 years Clifford; four daughters, Carol (Karl) Nock of Flushing, Diane (Irv) Trevorrow of Swartz Creek, Sandra (Robert) DaFoe of Lennon, Shirley (Ron) Dieck of Lennon; 11 grandchildren, Melissa (Dan) Eller, Monica Nock, Marcie (Eric) Hash, Daniel (Mandy) Anthony, Sara (David) Baldwin, Lisa (Aaron) Thurston, Kristie DaFoe, Chad (LeeAnn) Smith, Matthew Smith, Jordan Dieck, Justin Dieck; 6 great-grandchildren, Donaven Eller, Levi Anthony, Nathan and Emma Baldwin, Baby Thurston due in May, Hailee Smith; brother Jesse (Mary) Yott; sister-in-law, Renate Yott.
