Janet Williams

Janet Marie Williams of Houghton Lake, MI, transitioned into the arms of her Savior on February 4, 2019, in Leesburg, FL, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Flint, MI, to John (Jack) and Virginia (Ratza) Morgan, Janet lived with her family in Birch Run until her marriage to Harold Eugene Williams Jr. in 1961. Harold and Janet lived in the Fenton, MI, area, where they raised two children, Cheryl Ann (Williams) Wheeler and Harold Eugene Williams III. Committed to following Christ and serving others, Janet worked faithfully in her church and community. Her home was a warm gathering place where everyone was welcome, including family, friends, and visiting missionaries. She expressed her artistic creativity through her beautiful quilts, flower arrangements and decorating. Janet's kitchen was a continual source of delicious meals and baking, and where everyone joined together to celebrate life. After retiring to their home on Houghton Lake, MI, Janet and Harold continued to serve in the Houghton Lake Baptist Church and enjoy hosting the many family and friends who passed through their home. She loved a good conversation, playing games, and working in her flower garden. Above all else, she loved her family well and left a legacy of grace and joy that will endure. She will be deeply missed by her husband, two children and their spouses, five grandchildren and spouses, seven great-grandchildren, her sister Janice Ferweda, brother and sister-in-law John and Lorna Morgan, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tim and Diane Williams, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Debbie (Williams) and Darryl Studer, sister-in-law Sharon Smith, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Sharp Funeral Home, 6063 Fenton Rd, Flint, MI, on Saturday, February 9, at 11:00 AM. Viewings will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00-11:00 AM.
