Janos "John" VAMOSSY

VAMOSSY, Janos "John" - Age 81, of Fenton, left to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 5, 2013. He was staying at Crestmont Nursing Home. The family wishes to thank them for their excellent care. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held 2-7 PM Saturday and 1:30 PM until the time of service Sunday. John was born August 30, 1932 in Siofok, Hungary, near Lake Balaton, the son of Janos and Katalin (Sandor) Vamossy. In 1956, at age 24, he was with the Hungarian Freedom Fighters. After being shot, he was flown to the United States. He married Marcia Robinson, December 26, 1984. John worked as a Machinist at A C Spark Plug Division retiring after 27 years of service. He was involved in the Fenton Millpond Association. He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church of Fenton and a past member of the Fenton DDA. John enjoyed gardening and sharpening tools, not only for himself, but also his friends. He was always willing and able to help others. John was also an ardent bee keeper. John leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marcia of Fenton; his beloved daughter, Victoria Kenewell of Fenton, John Vamossy of Davison, Steve Vamossy of Grand Blanc, Paul Vamossy of Birch Run; close step-children, Scott Robinson of Swartz Creek, Christopher Robinson of Fenton, Bruce Robinson of Parker CO., Jeanette Weaver of Clarkston, Eileen Castles of Swartz Creek; 3 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and sister, Kathleen Hefty of Argentina. Also, special friends, Brett Butler and Dan Eder. He was preceded in death by one young daughter, Kathleen; his parents, Katalin and Janos Vamossy; brother, Steven and sister, Erma.
