WARD, Jay W. - Age 89, of Linden, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden. Rev. Donald Neuville officiating. Burial will follow in Tyrone Memory Garden, Fenton. Visitation will be held 3:00 - 9:00 PM Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Jay was born October 4, 1924 in Fenton, the son of Clinton and Violet (McDermitt) Ward. He was a 1944 graduate of Byron High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1944 - 1946 in the South Pacific. Jay worked as a dairy farmer for most of his life. He was a member of the Silver Lake Horseshoe Club. Jay is survived by his wife, Bonnie; sons, Lonnie Jay (Patricia)Ward, Steven P. Ward; daughter, Vickie (James) Hoover; 9 grandchildren, Michael & Clinton Ward, Teresa Moore, Christopher, Karri & Kimberly Hoover, Rachel Evans, Keith & Duane Ward; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Thelma Ward, Grace Vanderboss, Verna Wallis, Katherine Parks; brother-in-law, Charles Myers; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
