Jeffery Simion Brayan

Jeffery Simion Brayan, of Curtis, Michigan, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the age of 70.

A graveside service will be held in celebration of Jeffery's life at 4:00PM, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Evergreen Cemetery, located at 3415 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan, 48439. The graveside service will take place in the chapel at the cemetery, with Chaplain Hank Messing officiating, followed by interment.

Born on September 24, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1973. He began his career with J.N. Fauver Company where he learned his trade and began his own business, J.S. Brayan, Inc as an automation and pneumatic equipment distributor. He then expanded his horizons in the family business, Ice Mountain Arena Complex where he operated the facility, coached hockey and was owner of two junior hockey clubs, Great Lakes Hockey League, and the NA3HL under the name of Michigan Mountain Cats. He was owner of the Xtreme Racing snocross team for Skidoo in support of his son Travis on a very intense schedule across Canada and throughout the Midwest and Northern U.S.

Jeffery married the love of his life, Jacklinn, on November 21, 1975, at Grand Blanc Methodist Church. The two shared 50 wonderful years together. They were blessed with two boys, Logan and Travis. Jeff was a Harley guy and took many trips with friends and family to the well known Dragon’s Tail in Tennessee and even traveling on Route 66 to California. His favorite destination on his Harley was Deadwood, South Dakota. He loved being around people and entertaining with his quick wit and comical expressions and humor. He was a very caring and loving man. He befriended two young men in wheelchairs and took them on an adventure to Mackinaw Island and the Upper Peninsula. He gave many speeches to help with treatment for Muscular Dystrophy including the Michigan Firefighters in Detroit and to families with children of Muscular Dystrophy in New York City. He housed junior hockey club players in his home who traveled as far away as Africa and Canada to play on his NA3HL hockey team.

Jeffery is survived by his beloved wife, Jacklinn Brayan; his son, Travis (Amber) Brayan; granddaughter Anna Brayan, step-grandson, Johnathan Marden, and many siblings, Ken, Bill, Patty, Kenda, Betty, Terry, James, Michael, Greg, and Jill. He was preceded in death by his son, Logan Brayan, and his parents, Carl and Vera Brayan.
