Jeffrey J. Haerens, age 66, of Lapeer County, passed away August 17, 2026.
Jeff was born December 28, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Victor George and Linda (Lietz) Haerens. He graduated from Grosse Pointe North High School in 1978 and worked for many years as a sheet metal worker at Chrysler.
Jeff enjoyed fishing with his family and following all kinds of sports. He loved animals and regularly enjoyed spending time with his daughter's dogs. After years of being a proud dog grandpa, Jeff was especially excited to become a grandfather to Sieanna and Athena.
Jeff enjoyed woodworking and spent a lot of time working on projects and adding his own details throughout his home. He also had a love for clocks and had a large collection of grandfather clocks, many of which he repaired himself. He enjoyed collecting antique Edison phonographs and was always interested in finding another one to add to his collection.
Jeff was always willing to help and would give his time whenever he could. He showed the people he cared about how much they meant to him through the things he did for them.
Jeff is survived by his son, Charles J. (Emily) Haerens; daughter, Victoria (Matthew Russell) Haerens; grandchildren, Sieanna and Athena Haerens; siblings, Denise Walt, Rita (Tom) Margitish, and Victor (Rosanne) Haerens; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor George and Linda Haerens, and his sister, Lisa Cann.
