SMILJANICH, Jennifer Susan - Age 69, of Linden, died at home with her family present Sunday, April 14, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr.Ryan Riley celebrant. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden Friday May 24 from 4-8 PM, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM followed by a time of sharing, and visitation at the church Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Jennifer was born September 21, 1949 in Frankfort, Germany, the daughter of Richard Harold and Rosemary E. (Dolling) Gard. She was a graduate of Sault Ste. Marie High School and attended Lake Superior State College. She married George Michael Smiljanich March 14, 1970 in Sault Ste. Marie. She had resided in the Linden area since 1977 coming from Ishpeming. Jennifer had been employed as a seamstress at Hudson/Marshall Fields for many years, exceptional cook and quilter. She was a past member of St. Jose`ph in Gaines and of late St. John Evangelist Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Book Club at the Linden Library and the Quilting Club. Surviving are: her husband of 49 years, George; sons, George (Mary Jo) Smiljanich of Elberfeld, IN, David (Jennifer) Smiljanich of Scottsdale, AZ, and Paul (Megan) Smiljanich of Warrenton, VA; grandchildren, George, Connor, Sophia, Alex, Jacob, Tess, and Mike; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen Stephenson; and brother, Stephen Gard. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
