Jim Hines

James Earl "Jim" Hines - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, passed away April 4th, 2026. A memorial visitation will be held at 10AM on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes- Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek, MI, with a memorial service to follow at 12PM.

Jim was born on April 23rd, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Carl Fredrick and Sarah Elizabeth (Davis) Hines. He worked for the Kmart Corporation for 35 years. Jim loved to golf, fish, visit the horse track, watch the Tigers, do puzzles, teach new card games, and play poker with his lifelong friends. Most importantly, he was a dedicated family man.

Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Diana (Picking) Hines; children Laurie (Jimmy), Bonnie, and Jim (Ann); grandchildren Emily, Adam, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Eliott, Grace, Lucas, and Nate; eight great-grandchildren; and sister Barbara.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Diane.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association in remembrance of Jim.
