Jimmie Dotson

Jimmie Dotson, of Fenton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the age of 74. Jimmie lived his life devoted to his family and serving others, and he has now gone home to be with the Lord.

Born on August 15, 1951, he grew up in Hurley, Virginia, where he developed the strong values and work ethic that would define his life.

Jimmie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Loretta Hurley Dotson, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. He was a proud father to his three daughters: Monica Ramey (Charles), Kristen Steele (Jerrimy), and Amy Skergan (Ryan). He was a loving grandfather to Drew Green, Alexis Varner (Norman), Lance Green, Jagger Ramey, and Lily Steele. He is also survived by 7 siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Minnie (Coleman) Dotson, and his brother.

Jimmie was a simple and humble man whose life was a reflection of hard work, selflessness, and love. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others, never asking for anything in return.

His strength, kindness, unwavering faith, and quiet generosity will be remembered always by those who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on through his family, who will carry his love with them forever.
