LANE, Joan Leticialee - Age 81, of Swartz Creek, died December 26, 2013. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, December 30, at the West Flint Church of the Nazarene, 2254 S. Dye., Flint, with Dr. David W. Bowser officiating. Interment in Bristol Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and 10-11 AM at the church on Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Leader Dogs for the Blind or Nazarene Missions. Joan was born February 23, 1932 in West Branch, the daughter of Erwin and Patience (Parsell) Hole. She attended Olivet Nazarene College, where she met her husband, Paul Erway Lane. They were later married in Flint on September 20, 1952. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2010. Surviving are: her children Bradlee and Vivian Lane of Hudsonville, MI; Paula and Chris Rademacher of Polo, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kelli, Ashlee, Sarah and Christopher; and two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Chase. She faithfully played organ and piano at West Flint for over 30 years and also taught piano for many years. She and her husband raised a leader dog for the blind, and she subsequently authored a book about the experience. She was an avid animal lover and owned both cats and dogs.
