Joanne Marie Manko

Joanne Marie Manko, age 88, of Linden, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Thursday, June 25, 2026 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6481 Faussett Rd., Howell. Fr. Gregg Pleiness celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden.

Joanne was born on December 12, 1937, in Flint, the daughter of Raymond and Edith (Smith) Brown. She married the love of her life, Robert Manko, on September 9, 1961, and together they shared many happy years of marriage.

In her younger years, Joanne worked for Consumers Power. She later served as the librarian at Central Elementary School, where she enjoyed working with students and fostering a love of reading. She also worked at Alpine Market in both the deli and office. Throughout her life, Joanne held a variety of jobs, but the role she cherished most was that of homemaker. She took great pride in caring for her home, tending her yard, and creating a warm and welcoming place for family and friends.

Joanne will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kimberly (Noah) Mass and Michael (Melissa) Manko; her grandchildren, Holden (Courtney), Ian, Meredith, and Samantha; her beloved niece and nephews; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
