SWEET, Joanne Marie - Age 49, of Byron, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor William Donahue officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday and Sunday from 1-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Vietnam Veterans of America. Joanne was born December 23, 1963 in Howell, the daughter of Arthur Daniel and Betty Waweta (Livingston) Meinke. She is a graduate of Hartland High School. She married Harriet Latik'a Sweet November 27, 1993 in Brighton. She has resided in Byron since 2006 coming from Brighton and Howell. Joanne had been employed by Machining Center and Weathervane. Surviving are: wife, Harriet; son, Bernard Meinke and his children, Grace, Sarena, and Kelsea of Howell, step-daughter, Cynthia and husband Ron Holder of Ypsilanti and their children, Kyle and Heather Baker, Step-son, Don Sweet of Tennessee and his children, Dominic and Ryan, Step-daughter, Karen and husband Gene Sloan of Tennessee and their children, Alysa, Colleen, Rebecca, and Emily; mother, Bettie Meinke of Hartland; 2 brothers, Michael Meinke of Hartland and Timothy and wife Jamiey Meinke of Hartland; 2 sisters, Sandra Meinke of Hartland and Mary Ann and husband Norman Rizor of Linen; several nieces and nephews.
