Joanne Marie Williamson

Williamson, Joanne Marie - age 87 of Swartz Creek, passed away, June 22, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, June 28, 2025, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd, Swartz Creek, MI 48473 with Msgr. George Michalek and Rev. Fr. Louis Ekka concelebrating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Friday, June 27, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Saturday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church or McLaren Hospice. Joanne was born on July 12, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Frank C. and Rose Marie (Marek) Halka. She graduated from Dye High School and was united in marriage to Bobby Williamson on September 15, 1956, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Bobby preceded her in death on June 4, 2019. Joanne was a longtime member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the Swartz Creek Friendship Club. She was known for her exceptional cooking, especially her famous cabbage rolls, and spent many years catering. Joanne also enjoyed gardening and crocheting, sharing her talents through the Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Mary Queen of Angels. Surviving are: two daughters, Brenda Sovis and partner, Beth Kling and Teresa (Gene) Tuohy; grandchildren, Monica (Peter) Serran, Jason Sovis, David Sovis, Brandon Sovis, Garrett Tuohy, and Alex Tuohy; great grandson, Cooper Sovis. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Mulholland.
