John Beckwith Sr.

BECKWITH, John Francis, Sr. -- Age 82, of Flint, died April 27, 2014. Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday May 1, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek. His son Jeffrey Beckwith will officiate. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday, and 1-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, and 12 PM until time of service on Thursday. John was born June 27, 1931 in Flint the son of Leo and Agnes (Hickson) Beckwith. He married Betty Phillips in 1950 in Texas. John worked at General Motors as a welder retiring from Grand Blanc Metal Fab in 1997. He was a member of the UAW Local 1292. Surviving are: Betty; 3 children, John Beckwith Jr. of Fenton, Jeffrey (Toni) Beckwith of Flint, Linda Hubbard of Flint; grandchildren, Jamie Sorrells, TJ Hubbard, Amy Hubbard, Susie Hubbard, Jennifer Lee Ross, Jeremy David Beckwith, Traci Barharn; great- grandchildren, Kayla Pruett, " The Apple of his eye", Shania Straubel, Kaitlynn Ross, Logan Ross, Kathryn Thornton, Shawn Thornton.
