CANTEA, John Paul - Age 70, of Linden, died October 10, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). John was born October 15, 1947 in Detroit. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy 1968-1974, serving aboard the USS Calcaterra. He worked for Trescal for 44 years. His hobbies include classic cars, being Grandma's "sous chef", going to the cottage with his family, and canoeing every summer with his grandchildren. John was a loving son, husband, father and "FUN" grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Andrea; children, Andrea (Tom) Wray, Johnny Cantea, Erica (Travis) Deters, Monica (Jon) O'Connor, Andrew (Michelle) Cantea; grandchildren, Marisa, Lydia, Claudia, Ian, Keira, Reid, Alexander and Adrienne; mother, Anna Cantea; brother, Tony Cantea.
