GROLL, John J. - age 84, of Fenton died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Pines of Lake Fenton. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a rosary will be prayed at 8 PM. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Mr. Groll was born February 11, 1929 in Fenton, where he resided his entire life. He was a Navy veteran, a life member of the VFW, and a member of the American Legion. He retired in 1987 from GM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Mary (Woods), his parents, John and Margaret (Toomey) Groll and both of his sisters, Margaret and Mary. Mr. Groll is survived by: his four children, Mary Groll-Brown of Fenton, John H. and wife Marsha Groll of Lambertville, Christopher Groll of Battle Creek, Dr. Jeremy M. and wife Lorie Groll of Kettering, Ohio; also surviving are 11 grandchildren.
