FICK, Sr, John "Jack" Richard - age 86 of Swartz Creek, died May 6, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, May 13, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Interment will follow at Bendle Cemetery, Clayton Township. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Saturday, 4-8 PM Sunday and 12 PM - 1 PM Monday at the funeral home. Jack was born January 9, 1938, at home in Swartz Creek, the son of John William and Frances June (Begole) Fick and was a lifelong resident of Swartz Creek. Jack married Judith Anne Rueckert on June 28, 1958. He founded, owned and operated Fick Excavating. Jack was very active in the Swartz Creek community; he served as the Clayton Township Supervisor, and was a member of the Future Farmers of America, County Line Tractor Club, REO Club, Swartz Creek Jaycees. He was also a member of West Court Street Church of God for over 50 years. Surviving are: wife, Judith Anne Fick; five children, Daneen Fick, Janet (Kurt) Jennings, John (Cathy) Fick, Jr., Timothy (Stephanie) Fick, and Andrea Fick; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Amber) Fick, McKenna (Jeff) Oard, Carson (Ashley) Fick, Parker Jennings, Selleka Fick, Landon Fick, Jacob Bonk, and Kylie Fick; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jackson, and Wyatt Fick; two great-great-grandchildren, Amora and Dawson; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
