KOSTKA, John Joseph "Jack" - Age 92, of Linden, died Sunday, May 26, 2019. A graveside service will be held 12:30 PM Friday, June 28, 2019 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Jack was born January 10, 1927 in Flint, the son of Michael J. and Evelyn A. (Johnston) Kostka. He was a 1945 graduate of Flint Tech High School and a 1950 graduate of GMI. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Catherine O'Keefe August 19, 1966 in Linden and she preceded him in death February 28, 2012. Jack retired in 1982 from GM Buick after 36 years of service. He had resided in Linden for the past 13 years, coming from Lost Lake Woods where he resided for 20 years. He was a member of the Alpena Elks Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. Surviving are his children, John "Jack" Kostka of Lincoln, William Kostka of San Jose, CA, David Kostka of Tucson, AZ, Jeanne (Marty) Baruth of Tampa, FL, Timothy Kostka of Tampa, FL, and Mary Frances "Frannie" (Tom) Cummings of Tampa, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Wilson of Grand Blanc; special niece, Sue and husband Scott Ward of Linden; and many other nieces and nephews.
