PRATT, John Eugene "Jack" - age 84, passed away peacefully September 24, 2012. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, September 28 at Powers Catholic High School, Flint. Family and friends will gather at Powers after 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass on Friday. Entombment services will be 11 AM Saturday, September 29 at the Mausoleum at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 12-8 PM Wednesday and Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with a Rosary at 6:30 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family requests individuals make a donation to a scholarship fund established in Jack's honor that provides assistance to students at all of the Genesee County Catholic Schools (Payable to Powers Catholic High School) or Jack and Mary Ellen Pratt Scholarship Fund (Payable to Grand Blanc High School) or a fund for Weight Room Equipment at Kearsley High School (Payable to Kearsley Community Schools). Jack was born on August 8, 1928 the youngest of two children to William and Lillian (Halbert) Pratt. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1945. He earned his Bachelors degree from Central Michigan University, and went on to earn his Masters degree from the University of Michigan. Jack married Dolores Ann Etue in 1957 and together they had four children: John (Robyn) Pratt, Steve (Joanne) Pratt, David (Jill) Pratt and Eugene (Sue) Pratt. Dolores passed away in 1974 after sixteen years of marriage, she was 38 years old. Jack married Mary Ellen Thodoroff in 1975 and together they had four children: Jackie (Andy) Eickhoff, Elizabeth (Greg) Timmerman, Michael (Whitney) Pratt and Anthony Pratt. They were married for 37 years. Jack taught and coached for over 50 years and felt he "never worked a day in his life." Jack feels very fortunate to have been associated with so many people he called BELIEVERS. Jack leaves behind Mary Ellen; his eight children; eleven grandchildren, Danny, Heather, Andrew, Ryan, Grace, Whitney, Kaylee, Ty, Isabella, Dylan and Olivia.
