John Leslie Small

John Leslie Small Sr. - Age 82, of Gaines, passed away November 17, 2025. A committal service will be held 2:30PM Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, in John's memory. John was born February 4, 1943 in Flint, the son of the late John R. and Delores (VanGundy) Small. He married Eleanor Welsh on September 4, 1965 in Baltimore, MD. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy. John owned and operated Veteran Floors for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor; children, Sherry (William) Pagels and their son, Joel; John (Dawn) Small Jr. and their children, Sydney, Samuel and Jaxon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Larry; grandson, Samuel Ian.
