WARLAND, John R. "Jack" -- Age 91, of Swartz Creek, died December 5, 2012 at Bortz Health Care, Lake Orion. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday December 7 at the West Flint Church of the Nazarene, 2254 S. Dye Rd., Flint, Dr. David Bowser officiating. Interment in Bendle Cemetery, Clayton Township. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at the church Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to West Flint Church of the Nazarene. Jack was born May 9, 1921 in Millington, the son of Rev. R.C. Warland and Rose Ann (O'Brien) Warland. He married Onlea Snell on February 1, 1941; she preceded him in death in 2008. Jack was a Nazarene Pastor of Home Mission Churches.He pastored in Clare, Montrose, Grand Blanc and Sages Lake. He worked in Skilled Trades at General Motors as a pattern maker, retiring with 38 years of service. Surviving are: two children, Linda Lucas of Oxford, Larry and wife Diane Warland of Toledo, OH; two grandchildren, Deanna and husband Travis Bradburn of Ortonville, Beverly Tice of Oxford; three great grandchildren, Tori Bradburn, Ethan Tice, and Nicholas Bradburn; brother Kenneth Warland. He was preceded in death by wife Onlea; son-in-law Howard Lucas; and two sisters Marjorie Snell and Elizabeth Stevens. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
