Jon Powell

Powell, Jon Frederick - Age 62, of Holly, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019.  Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 12 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton.  Interment in Rose Center Cemetery, Rose Township.  Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton; and 10 AM until the time of service at the church Saturday.

Jon was born October 24, 1956 in Ionia, the son of Ronald and Margie (Thomas) Powell.  He married Martha Lomas September 6, 1986 in Detroit.  Jon was a loving son, husband, father, and adoring grandfather.  He devoted his life to mentoring younger generations: he coached community youth sports and taught weekly Sunday school classes for 30 years.  He enjoyed teaching his children about all things camping, fishing, and sports.  His family takes comfort in knowing he's home and resting peacefully with his Heavenly Father.

Surviving are: his beloved wife of 33 years, Martha; 4 children, Alanna (Jonathan) Pape, Heather Powell, Lauren Powell, and Spencer Powell; 3 grandchildren, Liliana, David, and James Pape; mother, Margie Powell; brother, Douglas (Amanda) Powell; sister, Julie (Brian) Calley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
