Joseph Scott Hopper, age 34, of Howell, Michigan was called to his heavenly home on May 18, 2026. Born on January 29, 1992 at Fort McClellan in Anniston, Alabama, Joe was raised in Linden, Michigan, the only child of Scott and Connie Hopper. He attended Linden High School, graduating in 2010, and grew into a skilled tradesman who took quiet pride in his craft and an even greater pride in the family he built.
Joe was a devoted father, husband, son, and grandson above all else, the kind of man who showed up, worked hard, and loved deeply. He cherished his role as a husband – Monaclaire was the love of his life, his partner, and his rock. Joe was also a beloved friend to many. His kindness, sense of humor, and caring nature made him someone people could always count on, and he brought so much joy to everyone whose life he touched. Some of his most treasured moments were spent outdoors with his family, fishing, shooting, and hunting and sharing those skills and the memories that came with them to the ones he loved most. He also loved horror movies, WWE, anime, and his Detroit and Michigan teams, a mix that pretty much anyone who knew him would say was perfectly Joe.
Joe is survived by his beautiful wife and their five children: Mason (13), Jayden (13), Hunter (11), Emma (7), and Harlen (4). He is also survived by his parents and his grandmother, Linda Hopper. Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Papa David Hopper and Gigi Tessie Yakin. Also left to cherish his memory are his goodest boy, Oscar, and their cat, Midnight.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W Silver Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by visitation until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Any donations can be made via GoFundMe or directly to the Hopper family.
Joe was a man of faith who knew that eternal life comes through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His Christian faith carried him through life, and in his passing, it remains a source of comfort and strength for his family as they walk through this difficult time. Joe will be forever in our hearts.
