KONESNY, Joseph F. -- Age 84, of Swartz Creek, and died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Sun City Center, FL. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, March 16, 2013 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek with Fr. Nate Sokol celebrant. Interment will be held 11 AM Monday, March 18, 2013 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a Knights of Columbus Chalice service will be held at 7 PM Friday. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until the time of service Saturday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church Building Fund or a charity of one's choice. He was born in Detroit May 19, 1928 to Joseph Konesny, Sr. and Carrie Grabiec Konesny and graduated form St. Michael's High School, the famous class of 1946. He served in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division from 1946-1948. He married Patricia Marnell on June 23, 1951 then graduated from University of Detroit in 1952. They lived in the Otisville area on a farm for 50 years and he worked for 30 years at the old Fisher Body #1 plant as a night supervisor in the paint department. He belonged to Knight of Columbus Council 4285, PLAV Post #8, and Dom Polski. He is survived by wife, Patricia; five daughters, Paula (Jerry) Welsh Union Pier, MI, Kerry Konesny of Chicago, IL, Mary Jo (Michael) Pastukhov of Davison, MI, Ann (David) Piontowski of Greensburg, PA, Valerie (James) Carpenter of Clarkston, MI; grandchildren, Beth (Kyle) Moffatt, Michael Konieczka, Kathleen Murphy, Philip and Jane Piontkowski, Kellyn, Steven and David Carpenter; great-grandchild, Chase Moffatt; step-grandchildren, John, Rachel, Gabe (deceased), Scott, Jocelyn; five step-great grandchildren. He is survived also by sister, Rita Konesny of FL, brother, Kenneth Konesny (Sandy) of Otisville, MI, sister, Geraldine Konesny (deceased).
