Joseph Sobosky

Joseph Sobosky, 92, passed away on September 6, 2026. He was born on October 16, 1933, in Luzerne, Pennsylvania.

Services will be held 11 AM Friday September 11, 2026 at the Chapel at White Chapel Cemetery, 621 W. Long Lake Rd., Troy, Michigan, 48098. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan, 48507. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.

Joseph spent much of his professional life in the automotive industry, working as a car salesman and later as a manager at automobile dealerships. He took pride in his work and in the many relationships he developed throughout his career.

Joseph had a lifelong love of sports and enjoyed staying active. He especially loved playing hockey and golf, continuing to enjoy both sports well into his 70s. He appreciated the competition, camaraderie, and friendships that came with the games he loved.

Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Marie Doty. Together, Joseph and Jean built a family whose love and connection became an important part of their lives.

Joseph was the proud father of Dana Hoye, the late David Sobosky, Lisa Heck Hudson (David Hudson), and Greg Sobosky. He was a loving grandfather to Doug Hoye, Kelly McEvoy, Scott Sobosky, Rachel Blackstock, Rebecca Brown, and Lauren Heck, and a great-grandfather to 15 great-grandchildren.

Joseph’s greatest legacy is the family he leaves behind and the generations that carry his memory forward. He will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love of hockey and golf, his active spirit, and, most importantly, his love for his family.

He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Though Joseph is no longer with them, the memories he created and the family he helped build will continue to keep his spirit alive for generations to come.
