Joyce Ann Bigelow

Joyce Ann Bigelow went to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2023.

Joyce was born on June 28, 1936 in Flint Michigan to Claude and Emma (Goldbeck) Tice. On May 23, 1959 she married Ronald Bigelow. They had a great life together and enjoyed each other’s company for 64 years.

Joyce gave up her career at Citizens Bank, for one she considered more important, raising her two daughters, Deborah and Teresa. Later she worked at the Bedroom Suite and Schenk’s Department store. Joyce was a lifelong learner. She loved studying science, especially Astronomy and Biology, Literature and most important, Theology.

In 2010 she and Ron moved to Fremont Michigan nearer her daughter. She enjoyed going out to eat with her husband and spent many hours studying her Bible and journaling. She was extremely soft hearted and silently sent prayers to people daily. Joyce loved animals and was known to feed all the ones in the neighborhood including birds and the occasional strays that stopped by.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Ron; daughters, Deborah (Bernard) Kahn, and Teresa (Tom) Sturrus; grandchildren, Edward Kahn, Dan (Kelie) Kahn, Rachael (Jeff) Nelson, Cherilyn Sturrus, Tom Sturrus Jr, and Jonathan Sturrus; sister, Martha & sister- in-law, Brenda (Russ) Arrand and special, extra daughter Rea Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Norman and Raymond Tice; sisters, Bernice Tice, Helen Uffelman, and Doris Colburn; brothers-in-law, Billy Uffelman, John Colburn; sisters-in-law, Rosie Burt and Patricia Tice.

Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
