LINN, Joyce Arlene, age 65, of Flint passed away Friday February 1, 2013 at her residence. A funeral mass will be celebrated, 11AM Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Piux X Catholic Church G-3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Father Robert Copeland celebrant. Burial at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery to follow Mass. Visitation will be held 1PM - 8PM at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with a rosary at 7PM. Visitation will also be held 10AM until time of mass at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Ministries or the Northend Soup Kitchen. Mrs. Linn was born June 19, 1947 in Midland, MI, the daughter of the late Wayne L. and Lillian M. (Little) Gangle. She married Edward F. Linn, August 2, 1969 in Midland. While in college Joyce earned a BA and MA from Central Michigan University she also enjoyed water skiing, dancing and family camping. Joyce taught kindergarten from 1969 to 2000 at Edgerton Elementary in Clio. She was known as a deeply caring, hard-working, selfless person, always willing to devote her time and energy to the betterment of others. In addition to teaching children at Clio Schools, Joyce was devoted to her own children. She encouraged her children to persue their aspirations and was supportive and instrumental in their success. After retirement she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States as well as shopping. She stayed active in various local educational groups;the Edgerton Teacher Retirement Group, the Clio Schools Retirement Group and the M.E.A. Group. Surviving are; husband, Edward F. Linn of Flint; daughter Christine (Andrew) Hubley of PA; son, Michael Linn (Cheryl Frank) of CA; grandchildren Elihu and Abraham; sister, Donna (Jim) Pretzer of Hemlock MI.
