Joyce C. Speaker

Joyce C. Speaker, age 86, of Grand Blanc formerly of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Visitation will be held at 10am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11am on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road in Grand Blanc. Joyce will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Reynold Speaker at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Joyce was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Arthur & Mary Hostetter on September 5, 1938. She graduated from South Side High School, class of 1955. She was employed with Parkview Hospital for over 34 years before retiring in 2015. Joyce enjoyed many years with her mother at their cottage on Little Long Lake. It was a wonderful little get-away and the summers were absolutely beautiful. Joyce was a creative soul and throughout her years she knitted and sewn many things. Joyce always had a soft spot in her heart for cats and dogs of which she cared for many. A fond memory of hers were the dinners and shopping trips with her son, Shawn. She always enjoyed finding her little treasures and collector items.

Joyce is survived by her son, Shawn Speaker (Heather Murphy); daughter, Paula Yoder; grandchildren, Olivia (Jordan), Ian (Trinity), Alex and Ben (Lindsay); step-grandchildren, Monet (Parker), Madison (Kyle) and Carson; great-grandchildren, Leo, Kyzen "Goob", Kenzo "Zo", Rune, Hendricks and Mazie.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Reynold in 1978; her life partner, Don Bunnell.
