Judith A. SOWDEN

SOWDEN, Judith A. - Age 70, of Alpena, died July 26, 2013 at her residence surrounded by family and friends. Services will be 2 PM Monday, July 29 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, Rev. Pat England officiating. Visitation will be 11 AM - 2 PM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alpena Regional Medical Center Cancer Center. Judith was born August 20, 1942 in Flint the daughter of Marvin H. and Juanita (Scobey) Weaks. She graduated from Flint Central High School. She was married to Gordon John Sowden Jr. on January 15, 1983 in Lapeer. Judith retired from General Motors in 1990 with 22 years of service. After retirement she made many friends in the Alpena area. She enjoyed bowling in the winter and golfing in the summer. Surviving are: husband Gordon John Sowden Jr.; nine children, Scott (Lisa) Walker of Orlando FL, Brian (Debby) Walker of Grand Blanc, Gordon Sowden III of Swartz Creek, Michael (Cheryl) Walker of Waterford, Julie Sowden-Jones of Linden, Kristine Sowden (Joe) Karasek of Grand Blanc, Gina (Jeff) Eldon of Laguna Beach CA, Kevin (Jennifer) Kentish of Swartz Creek, Daniel (Trina) Sowden of Swartz Creek; 21 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
