Julie Ann McDonald

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Julie (Jules or Sugar) McDonald, who left us on August 7, 2025, at the age of 56. Julie was born on August 19, 1969, in Flint, Michigan. She was a loving wife to Stephen McDonald for 31 years and a dedicated mother of her two children: Samuel and Jaxson. In addition to Julie being an awesome wife and super loving mother, she was such a wonderful friend to so many people. She would go out of her way to help a friend or ease them through a tough situation. Julie also had a passion for taking care of her three dogs. Julie loved being with her family and filling her house with warmth and joy. She also loved doing decorating projects in her home with her husband. Julie worked for the Linden and Swartz Creek school districts for the past 15 years, touching many lives with her compassion and humor. Julie is survived by her loving husband Stephen; her sons Samuel and Jaxson; her father, Donald Talbot; her mother-in-law, Kathy McDonald; her brother Chris Talbot (Kelly); sister Kelly Leavy (Tony Warren); brother and sisters-in-law Bobby McDonald (Dani), Rick McDonald (Jodie), Sue Gould (Darell). She also leaves behind nieces and nephews Molly (Eric), Kathryn (Michael), Robbie (Sarah), Bailey (Noah), Rachel, Isabel (Jaxon), Jonathan (Lauren), Zach, Annabel, and Grace. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Talbot, and her father-in-law Robert McDonald.

A celebration of Julie’s life will be held August 13 (visitation from 3:00PM to 7:00PM) and August 14 (service starting at 11:00 AM) at Sharp Funeral Home, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Michigan. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering her vibrant spirit. Julie always had a dream to someday open a shelter for animals in need.
