PETTIS, June Irene -- Age 95, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday September 5, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Richard Kinnamon officiating. Internment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 5-8 PM Thursday and 10:00 AM Friday until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer's Association. June was born June 11, 1919 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Paul E. and Cora Mable (Nicholson) VanderMoss. She married James W. Pettis June 17, 1985 in Holly. She retired from General Motors after 20 years of service. June was a member of First Baptist Church of Holly and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 294. June was survived by her husband, James; children, Larry (Judy) Dismuke of Port Huron and Tina (Barry) Pettengill of Mt. Morris; four grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Nicole, and Travis; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul, Frank, Robert, and Harold VanderMoss; sisters, Mary LeClear and Violet Rich.
