Karen Elaine Holcomb-Densmore - age 71, of Ypsilanti, formerly of Flint, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Thursday, October 5, 2023 at South Lyon First United Methodist Church, 640 S Lafayette St, South Lyon, MI 48178 with Rev. Mary McInnes officiating. A reception with the family will follow at the church. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 1646 E Forest Ave, Ypsilanti, MI 48198. Karen was born March 1, 1952 in Owosso, the daughter of Roger and Genevieve (Snell) Holcomb. She married Timothy Densmore on June 15, 1974. Karen received a masters degree in Religious Education from the Nazarene Theological Seminary. She retired from the State of Michigan as a Social Worker in Foster Care. She was an author, educator and licensed day care director. Karen enjoyed quilting and showed her love for others by feeding everyone. Surviving are: husband, Pastor Timothy Holcomb-Densmore; two daughters, Kendra Holcomb-Densmore and Kelly (Brad) DeVries; grandson, Lucas DeVries; brother, Claude (Anthony Trzcinski) Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Genevieve Holcomb and brother, James Holcomb.
