Karen Lee Schroeder

Schroeder, Karen Lee – Age 83, of Tyrone Township, passed away November 2, 2026.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2026, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6481 Faussett Road, Howell. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM and 6:00 PM–8:00 PM Friday, November 13, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to Livingston County Catholic Charities.

Karen was born March 19, 1943, in Tyrone Township, Michigan, the daughter of Alvin and Ruth (Hogan) Dormire. She was a graduate of Hartland High School. She married Pat Schroeder on June 30, 1962, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Together, they had one daughter, Ann Marie.

Karen loved to golf, dance, and play cards. She designed and drew the plans for their dream home. She had a unique ability to visualize spaces and especially enjoyed drawing house floor plans. She inherited an excellent memory from her father and was often the family’s go-to resource. She also enjoyed sewing and was somewhat of a perfectionist, with her seam ripper always close to her sewing machine.

The greatest joy of Karen’s life was her three great-grandsons. She dearly loved her St. Augustine parish and often spoke fondly of her St. A’s family.

Surviving are her loving husband, Pat; granddaughter, Ashley (Josh) Oestreich; three great-grandsons, Sebastian, Jaxxon, and Phoenix; and her nephew, Jimmy Dormire.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ann Marie Wilson; son-in-law, Michael Wilson; and brother, James Dormire.
