Karen Sue Mitchell

Mitchell, Karen Sue - Age 78, of Flint, died July 1, 2025. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, July 14, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc. (Funeral service may be viewed by livestream from a link on Karen's page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.) Interment will be held 12:30 PM Monday, July 14 at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 N. Belford Rd. Holly. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Sunday, July 13; and from 10 AM Monday, July 14 until the time of the service at 11 AM at the funeral home. Thos desiring may make contributions to My Brother's Keeper or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Karen was born June 19, 1947 in Flint, the daughter of Charles E. Bierwirth and Adelia Lila (Lewis) Bierwirth. She married David Mitchell on September 28, 1974; he preceded her in death on July 25, 2022. Karen worked as a medical assistant for many doctors over the years and also cared for people out of the home. She loved antiques. She had her own antique businesses Quail's Crossing and Dykstra House in Washington, and also at Carriage Town Antiques in Flint. She loved the Oregon Coast. Karen had a great love for her family.

She is survived by her four children, Davina Mitchell of Kennewick, WA, Michael (Wendy) Eller of Richland, WA, David (Sherryl) Mitchell Jr. of Everett, WA, and Stefan Eller of Kennewick, WA; twenty grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Kristin Lewis and Clare Lewis; brother, Charles Bierwirth; and two nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Sean; brother, John Bierwirth; and great-granddaughter, Rome.
