Karen Lorraine YOUNG

YOUNG, Karen Lorraine (Davis) - age 65, of Otisville, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at McLaren - Flint. Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Michael Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday and 11 AM until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Karen Young Memorial Fund. Karen was born June 2, 1948 in Flint, the daughter of Norman and Wilma (Sullivan) Davis. She was a graduate of Kearsely High School and worked as a bookkeeper her entire life and at one time worked for Charles S. Mott. Karen loved Flint heritage and history including the automobile industry and owned several local businesses. She especially was proud of her grandchildren. She was an active member of Guiding Light Tabernacle. Surviving are: 2 sons, Robert (Tammy) Young of Davison, Joseph (Debbey) Young of Flint Twp; 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Ryan and Noah; 2 great-grandsons, Ethan and Sebastian; 2 sisters, Kathryn (Jeff) Carroll of Midland, Charlene (Richard) Myers of Flint; 2 half sisters and a half brother, Kristen Smith, Bethany Davis, and Matthew Davis all of Bay City; her significant other of the last 20 years, Gary Benway of Otisville; several nephews and nieces.
