Karl Stephen Kusky

Karl Stephen Kusky of Venice, Florida passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026 at 68 years old. He was born in Flint, Michigan to Albert and Irene Kusky on September 18, 1957. He was welcomed as the fifth of six boys. Karl grew up in Clio, Michigan graduating in the class of 1975. He held an Associate from Baker College, an Undergrad from Spring Arbor College, followed with a Masters from Central Michigan University. He also was a (PMP) Project Management Professional.

Karl married Carol Ann Pucilowski on August 8, 1981. He was a long-time resident of Swartz Creek, Michigan. Together they had one daughter, Kira Ann Kusky, whom he adored. She lives in Michigan.

Karl spent his career working in Information Technology with AC Spark Plug, Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Hewlett Packard as well as a number of Project Management firms. He retired in 2022.

Carol and Karl moved to Venice, Florida in 2016 where they enjoyed years of entertaining guests, meeting new neighbors, and traveling the state. They returned each summer to Michigan to see family and friends, and hopefully avoid hurricanes.

He was a steadfast loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Karl enjoyed anything relating to technology, especially smart home tech. He loved landscaping, traveling and being at the beach. He was an adopted Spartan, rooting for Michigan State, along with the Detroit Lions.

Karl is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Kira, brothers Donald of Clio, Michigan, Ken (Cathy) of Burton, Michigan, Richard (Valerie) of Wetumpka, Alabama, and former sister in laws Terry, Louise, and Kim. He is also grieved by several beloved nieces and nephews, lifelong friend Tom Poe, special cousin Gary Smith, and the Sopko and Pucilowski family cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers John, David and Leonard.

The Michigan Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 2-7pm, with a Rosary at 7 pm. The gathering will be at the at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek, Michigan.

Funeral services have already been held in Venice, Florida, and cremation has taken place. Karl will be interned at a later date.
