Karla was born on July 13, 1964 in Wayne, Michigan, beloved daughter of the late Glenford and Geneva (Crouch) Wiper, and she carried their love and strength with her throughout her life. She was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, caring sister, loving aunt, and a true friend to many. Above all else, Karla put her family first-always. Her thoughtfulness, kindness, and unwavering love shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1982 and later dedicated many years of service as a custodian with Fenton Area Public Schools.
She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and her six grandchildren-Karson, Karter, Greylyn, Geneva, Oakley, and Mason-who brought endless light and laughter into her life. Whether it was sharing stories, laughing together, or simply being present, those moments meant everything to her.
Karla had a special way of making people feel seen and cared for. She was funny, warm, and deeply compassionate. She cherished time with friends and family, especially the moments filled with laughter, connection, and love.
She is survived by her three children: Kristopher (Kerri) Wiper, Terra (Kirk) Wardlow, and Tricia (Joseph) Swineford; her six cherished grandchildren; her twin sister Marla (Ron) Piluras; her brothers Joseph Wiper and Glen Wiper; as well as many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.
She was preceded in death by her father Glen Wiper, her mother Geneva Wiper, and her brothers Will Wiper and John Wiper.
Karla’s life was defined by the love she gave so freely. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the impact she made on those around her will never fade.
