Katharine Ann Moore

Katharine Ann (Mahoney) Moore – Age 90, of Swartz Creek, passed away March 21, 2026. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, with Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. A committal service will follow at 1:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 25, from 4PM – 8PM at Sharp Funeral Homes - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with a 7PM rosary at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held at the church on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of Mass. 

Katharine was born on December 24, 1935, in Flint, Michigan to the late John P. and Katharine A. (Purcell) Mahoney. Katharine was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and taught CCD. She enjoyed bowling, was an avid reader, and loved camping up north with family. Katharine had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She married the love of her life, John A. Moore, on February 1, 1958, and they spent sixty wonderful years together. Cherished by her family, Katharine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed beyond measure. 

Katharine is survived by her children Kevin (Angela) Moore, Karen (Matthew) Garvey, and Jeffrey (Toni) Moore; grandchildren Kerrigan Moore, Riley Moore, Brendan (Kayley Hocking) Garvey, Nolan (Machaela Bierlein) Moore, Logan Moore, Kaitlin (Luke Endebrock) Garvey, Kara Garvey, and Alexandrea (John) Doroba; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband John A. Moore; parents; and siblings.
