Katherine Lavanway

LAVANWAY, Katherine S. - Age 86, of Fenton, died February 9, 2019. Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Katherine was born November 29, 1932 in Paducah, KY, the daughter of Joseph and Aulta (Willoughby) Magulick. She was a 1951 graduate of Bendle High School. She married Rosswell LaVanway on May 12, 1962 in Flint; he preceded her in death on January 23, 2015. Mrs. LaVanway had worked for Fenton Schools and AC Spark Plug. She is survived by her son, Brent (Debbie) LaVanway of Fenton; daughter, Kim (Eric) Sakadinsky of Durango, CO; grandchildren, Erin, Meagan, Olivia, Alexander and Carson; brothers, Robert (Tina) Magulick and Larry Magulick; sister-in-law, Doris Magulick; many nieces and nephews, including, Janice Boyce and Lyn (Daniel) Overland; many good friends, including Carole Miller. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Hazel; sister-in-law, Barbara Magulick. Special thanks to the staff and friends at Brookdale of Grand Blanc.
