Katheryn Elizabeth Daily

Katheryn (Kathy) Elizabeth Daily, 75, of Davison, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 with her family by her side.

Kathy took a genuine interest in the lives of her family, her friends, her dental patients, and all of the lives that she touched.  She was known for her cooking, her baked goods and her beautiful gardens. Her love of the land began as a young girl growing up on a farm, and continued throughout her life as an avid gardener who joyfully shared her vegetables, flowers and all sorts of homemade sweets, especially pies and Christmas cookies.  She knew the value of hard work, the preciousness of family and of gathering others around a table for a Sunday dinner or a holiday.  She had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and that they mattered.

Kathy was born in Flint, Michigan on Veterans Day, November 11,1947.  She was the oldest of three children of the late Douglas and Margaret (McClenna) Morey. Growing up in Swartz Creek, Michigan, Kathy graduated from Lake Fenton High School in Linden, and went on to study dental hygiene. She was a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association and practiced as a dental hygienist for over 45 years.  Kathy treated entire generations of families and always took a special interest in their lives.  She had the gift of gab, and knew how to have entire conversations with patients, while they had dental tools in their mouths.  She was thorough and kind.

On June 29,1968, Kathy married the love of her life, John Daily at Lincoln Park Methodist Church in Flint. Together they shared 55 years of unwavering love and commitment to each other. They were blessed with two children Denise (Malinowski) and Matthew Daily, and seven grandchildren.  

Kathy fulfilled a shared dream with her husband of constructing a lake cottage on an island in northern Michigan, an endeavor that spanned over a decade. The end result was a much-loved place of sanctuary.

She and John enjoyed retirement together, traveling all over Europe and the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.  She organized and enjoyed trips with the Buick Club, camping, boating and snowmobiling.  She lived a full life and her most cherished the times with her family and friends. 

Kathy is survived by her husband John Daily, her daughter Denise Malinowski (Jeff) and son Matthew Daily (Roni) and grandchildren Alina, Ella and Nolan (Malinowski) and Hunter, Noah, Thatcher, and Graham (Daily). She is also survived by her brother Bradley Morey (Sherridee) and her brother-in-law Jason Nevadomski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart. She was preceded in death by her sister Marilyn Nevadomski.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 from 10am-1pm at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden. A memorial service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. All are welcome for a luncheon to be held on the family farm following the service. A graveside burial service will take place at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 30th, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery, Linden.
