Kathleen Burgess

BURGESS, Kathleen Irene - Age 88, of Fenton, formerly of Gaines, died June 16, 2017. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Chaplain Andy Pugh will officiate. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Kathleen was born December 8, 1928 in Morrice, the daughter of Louie and Hazel (Lawcock) DeBarr. She was married to Eugene Curtis Burgess on July 30, 1948 in Angola, IN. Kathleen worked for General Motors for 13 years, then for the Linden Schools in the Cafeteria. She belonged to a women's card club for many years and she loved to cook. Her life was devoted to taking care of her son, Don, then in the later years he took care of her. She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Ron) Lumsden; grandson, Brent (Kate) Lumsden; great-grandsons, Branden, Kai and Ezra; sisters, Sue Spradley, Ione Delzer and Maxine Spencer; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald; grandson, Chris Lumsden; seven brothers and a sister. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
