Keitha LaRue Morris, age 92, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Galesburg, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Swartz Creek, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside service will take place at 12:00 PM, Monday, May 18, 2026, in the chapel at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park South, 3941 S Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008. Following the cemetery a celebration of life will take place at 1:30 PM at The Park Club of Kalamazoo, 219 W. South St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.
She was born on September 3, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of the late Richard and Louise (Voigts) Koopman. A proud graduate of Wayland High School, class of 1952, Keitha carried a strong sense of dedication and creativity throughout her life. She was a talented professional seamstress, specializing in custom drapery at Radeau Interiors, where her attention to detail and craftsmanship were greatly admired.
On September 20, 1952, Keitha married Roger Frank Morris in Wayland, Michigan. Together, they built a loving and devoted family. She is survived by her children, Jacquelyn (Dennis) Templeton, Randall (Mary) Morris, and Valerie (Tim) Summers. Keitha was a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Koopman, and brother, Howard Koopman.
Keitha enjoyed many of the same interests with her husband, including hiking, camping, and traveling, especially exploring waterfalls and creating lasting memories on family vacations. She also found great joy in reading and shopping, which became favorite pastimes throughout her life.
Keitha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger; her parents; and her brother, Richard Koopman.
