Kenneth Beard

BEARD, Kenneth Dean, Sr. - Age 85, of Byron, died Friday, May 13, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday May 17, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor John Walworth officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Monday; and 12-1 PM Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Byron V.F.W. Auxiliary (Christmas Basket Fund), or Reverence Hospice, or to a charity of your choice. Kenneth was born August 26, 1930 in Durand/Vernon area the son of Harry and Bessie (Wernowsky) Beard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Priscilla Dean King January 26, 1957 in Swartz Creek. He retired from GM Grand Blanc Truck Plant after 30 years of service. Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Priscilla; four sons, Kenneth (Theresa) Beard, Jr. of Cohoctah, Kevin Beard I, Steven (Laurie Willerd) Beard, and Kim Beard all of Byron; four grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Perino of Fenton, Nicole (Tim) Bunch of Grand Blanc, Kevin Beard II of Byron, and Lee (Jessica) Beard of Byron; eight great grandchildren, Brendan, Ethan, Jillian, Kennedy, Kaitlyn, Cade, Alexis, and Bryson; brother, Gary Beard of Durand; sister, Vivian (Roger) Bahr of Byron; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry (Charlotte) Beard and Clay (Wilma) Beard; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma Lou (Arthur) Welch, Charmayne (Fred) Hines, and Rosalie (Eugene) Lester; sister-in-law, Sue Beard; and nephews, David Lester and Fred Hines, Jr. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
