Kenneth Edward Chaney

Kenneth Edward Chaney –Age 71, of Harrison, Michigan passed away April 5, 2026. A committal service with full military honors will take place at 2:30PM on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Great Lakes National Cemetery- 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI. Arrangements entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes- Fenton Chapel, 1000 W Silver Lake Rd, Fenton.

Kenneth was born January 2, 1955, in Calhoun County, Alabama to Lura Frances (Meade) Sanger and the late Bennie Ray Chaney. Kenneth was a proud Marine. He had a great sense of humor, loved to tell jokes, and enjoyed being outside and staying busy. His favorite days were spent fishing, traveling to new places, or hunting for deals at flea markets. Kenneth also loved animals. Over the years he had many furry dog friends, all of them affectionately named Oscar.

Kenneth is survived by his mother and step-father Donald and Lura Frances Sanger; children Larry (Sandy) Chaney, Jason (Christina) Chaney, Carrie Hetchler, Jolene Case and Alissa Chaney; brothers Michael (Pat) Chaney, Dan (Chris) Chaney and Bruce (the late Maria) Chaney; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Bennie Chaney, and son Kenneth Aaron Chaney.
