Kenneth Earl DeBarr

DEBARR, Kenneth Earl  Age 73, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Fred Finzer officiating. Veterans honors will be performed immediately following the service under the auspice of Swartz Creek VFW/Am. Vets Post # 3720. Visitation will be held 3-9 PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Duffield United Methodist Church. Mr. DeBarr was born September 14, 1930 in Lennon, MI, the son of Louie Arthur and Hazel M. (Lawcock) DeBarr. He married Virginia Mae Richter on June 15, 1963 in Durand and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2003. Mr. DeBarr was employed by General Motors for 30 years and John Post and Sons for 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. DeBarr was a devoted member of the Duffield United Methodist Church. Surviving are: seven children, Lela Whitehead of Owosso, Edna Bacon of Flint, Danny DeBarr and wife, Edie of Owosso, Mary and husband, Michael Novak of Swartz Creek, Floyd DeBarr and wife, Joyce of Owosso, Janet and husband, Doug Anibal of Waterford, Kenny DeBarr of Chesaning; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Leon DeBarr; four sisters, Maxine, Ruth, Sue, and Kate. He was also preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, Robert, Richard, Charles, and Louis DeBarr, Jr.; and two infant brothers; grandson, Darrell Wilcoxson, Jr. Friends may share their online condolences with the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
