Ken was born October 13th, 1952 to Robert and Neva (Batchellor) Medford in Almont MI. He attended Grand Blanc High School, and would end up marrying Janice Lee Angel, his lifelong love, on June 17, 1978. They share two children and a lifetime of memories in their 47 years of marriage.
Ken’s life of service to others began early on when he started as a shoe shine boy at Reid’s Barber Shop, and eventually became a barber, a career that spanned 45 years where he cared for thousands of clients through the years in his chair.
He lived a full life; when he wasn’t hard at work, Ken enjoyed spending time with his family and making memories through camping, where he was happiest on the water, and traveling. He found joy in road trips and even adventured to both coasts. Ken was an avid fan of music of all kinds. He loved The Beatles, live music and concerts, and even played multiple instruments. He was known for his guitar playing and also played drums and the mandolin along the way. He was an ace at the pool table and known for being able to hit the corner pocket behind his back. Ken cared for animals, and in his later years grew in his faith and found comfort in the Bible.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Janice, children Timothy (Jacquelyn) Medford of New Haven, IN, and Katherine (Ernest Chenery) Medford of Fort Wayne, IN, and two grandchildren, Collin and Simon Chenery. His surviving siblings include James (Jean) Medford, Thomas (Laurie) Medford, Simon Shane, and Pamela Conley, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who counted as friends. .
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Neva.
