Larry Gwendol Coleman

Larry Gwendol Coleman, age 74, of Davison, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service Saturday. Full military honors and inurnment will take place at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.

Larry was born on March 11, 1952, in Flint, the son of the late Warren and Lula Mae (Emerton) Coleman. He graduated from Ainsworth High School. Following graduation, Larry proudly enlisted in the United States Army on March 26, 1971, serving during the Vietnam War until receiving his honorable discharge on December 11, 1973.

Larry retired from Chrysler after many years of dedicated service. He and Christina were united in marriage on November 1, 2015, in Flushing.

Larry was a gifted poet and writer who fulfilled his dream of writing a book and writing numerous poems throughout his life. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking.
